The GCCFI Supreme Cat show is being held this Sunday, April 25th 2010, in the Roadstone Group Sports Club, Kingswood, City West, Dublin.
The Supreme Cat Show is Ireland’s premier show case of all the top winning show cats in the country. All of the cats entered must have qualified by winning their class at a previous GCCFI Championship show, so there are sure to be some very beautiful examples of each breed on display. It’s also a great opportunity to see some of the more rare and exotic pedigree cat breeds, which you might not have seen before. At the end of the day the judges will choose the Supreme Kitten, Supreme Adult, and Supreme Neuter from all those entered, and then one of those cats will be crowned Overall Supreme Exhibit 2010, the ultimate title!
As if all that excitement wasn’t enough to keep you amused, there will be talks by well-known TV vet Pete Wedderburn, animal behaviourist Jim Stevens of the Pet Behaviour Centre, and also a cat grooming demonstration by experienced cat exhibitor and breeder Maura Lenihan of Coomakista. In addition, there will a children’s drawing competition, and lots of stalls selling everything for cats and cat owners!
The show venue, the Roadstone Group Sports Club, has a bar and restaurant on site and plenty of free parking. It is located opposite the Maldron Hotel Citywest on the Naas Road (N7), and is only a few minutes drive from the M50 (Red Cow exit). It is also accessible by bus and LUAS.
The show is open to the public from 12.30 to 5pm, and admission is just €5/€3. So do come along and see some lovely cats and meet their friendly (and often quite mad!) breeders and owners…
